Workshop IVE

Objectives

You are given an understanding of the integral thinking of corporate management. The workshop ensures harmony between the aspired and the actual profile of the young entrepreneur. The development of a business plan will support this process.

Working method

The instructors illustrate in small groups the successful realization of the tools of the business plan and its implementation. Exercises will be solved and discussed in groups.

Costs of the workshop

For students, the workshop is free.

Award ceremony

The three groups which qualified themselves with the best business plans will be rewarded with a sum of CHF 4000.-, 2000.- and 1000.- . Each participant will be awarded an official diploma by the IVE.

Former workshop participant’s experience:

Laurent Fabre and Fabrizio Lo Conte got together when they were working on their thesis. They discovered having a common desire to evolve the way we interact with electricity. Little to none has been done to how electricity is used since the 50′s. It was time to bring new technologies into the homes and offices to live up to today’s standards and expectations. That’s how the eSMART technologies Sàrl was born in a lab at the EPFL.
Laurent and Fabrizio presented their idea and realized their first business plan at the IVE workshops. A year later, the company was founded. To complement their own skills, the founders sought team members that have an entrepreneurial spirit, large experience in specific fields, who are creative and fun to be around. The eSMART team today counts Patricia Schwarz to lead the marketing initiatives and Sébastien Bergin as the head of business development.
