Last weekend we had the pleasure to go to the semesterly national conference of AIESEC in Switzerland. This year Fribourg was with a delegation of about 25 members the second largest participating local committee.
Each of our members followed one of the five tracks that were offered: Newie, Experienced Member, Executive Board, Local Committee President and Alumni. After talking to participants of every track we can only say: Conference-Organization-Committee: you did a great job! Our members enjoyed their sessions and the workshops provided by the national partners (HAYs, UBS) a lot.
But we think that the most important was, that this conference let us grow together as a local committee and gave us the opportunity to get to know people from all over Switzerland (and Europe). It’s amazing to see so many students, and with each of them you have something to talk about, as we’re all part of the same organization.
We’re looking forward to the next conference in April!
13th October 2012
On Saturday, 13th October we had our Introduction into AIESEC for the new members.
This semester’s introduction was something special, as it was the first time organized together with the Local Committee of Bern. This gave the Fribourg “newies” already the chance to get to know other new members from Bern.
After a welcomoning breakfast at the University of Bern the sessions started. The new members got education in their functional areas and introductional sessions in AIESEC in general.
It was a long, but very productive day! We were happy to see you all starting to work and enjoying yourselves!
Introduction with Bern: devinetley something to repeat.

Welcome to AIESEC Fribourg!
On Thursday we had our fist local committee meeting with all our new members. We’re proud to announce our new official numbers after the recruitement:
45 members in total – 35 girls and 10 boys!
We’re looking forward to see the 29 new members perform in our committee and are eager to see what the future brings!
26th & 27th September 2012
What a busy week! Two Global Villages and on the same days two information-events! But our Executive Board did a good job and managed it!
Although we do our information events every semester there are always many students that attend – and this semester wasn’t an exception! The Info-Events are there, to inform students that are interested in the overall activities (memership and internships) of AIESEC Fribourg. If you missed the ones last week – no problem! Next ones (this time only about internships) are in the following weeks:
9.10. at 18.15h in MIS3027
16.10. at 18.15h in MIS3027
If you’re interested in doing an internship with us, don’t be shy! Come and join these information-events (and there is always something good to eat, too!
)
26th & 27th September 2012
Today we happly welcomed students to our first Global Village of the semester! About 15 people from 8 different countries cooked hard yesterday to present you their national food.
Their effort was worth it! About 200 students visited their tables during morning and lunchtime.
We want to thank all the participating countries and organizators!
If you missed the Global Village today, don’t miss the one tomorrow in Pérolles! It’s taking place from 10h-13h in the hallway.
See you there!

The next day it got global in Pérolles – and delicious! We welcomed about 150 visistors!
A big thanks again to the participating countries and the organizers and to our genious photographer!

Yesterday night we were proud to welcome Resi Schneider, the President of AIESEC in Switzerland, in Fribourg. She gave a training on “How to prepare your future beyond just classes”.
During the training she taught some interesting facts about how companies choose their employees and what students can do to improve their chances. Then the 40 students that attended the training were asked to actively participate: they had to solve a typical exercise of an assessment.
After the training AIESEC Fribourg offered an apéro.
Thank you, Resi – for this inspiring training, Frederic – for the awesome pictures and the organisers – for the apéro!

This years’ first semester students were welcomed by a surprise organized by AIESEC Fribourg. After the official welcoming the students had some time to get to know the different student associations at our university. The AIESEC Firbourg team was supported during their promotion by our Blueman. The first years seemed to enjoy the new way of promotion and got to talk personally with the Blueman.
